Beckmann: “Vote to end hunger”

David Beckmann, a 2010 World Food Prize Laureate, called on U.S. voters Wednesday to “vote to end hunger” in November by casting ballots for candidates who support the bipartisan Congressional legislation called the Feed the Future Global Food Security Act of 2014. “It’s possible to end hunger within 15 years,” Beckmann said at a news conference at the World Food Prize meeting in Des Moines. “We’ve seen dramatic progress on hunger, poverty and disease.” Beckmann, president of Bread for the World, said voters can go to www.bread.org/elections to check the voting record of elected officials on hunger and poverty issues.
